Our 21st-century economy must ensure that everyone has the chance to earn a good living, reside in safe and decent housing, provide quality education for their children, and access affordable health care. For our economy to grow, people must trust that their government is working to create a fair, level playing field where all families have equal access to opportunity.
Affordable Housing as a Foundation
A healthy and safe environment begins with secure, stable housing. Making affordable housing available to working families is not just important – it is essential. This must remain a top priority in 2026 and beyond. Families cannot thrive when they are constantly worried about displacement or being priced out of their own neighborhoods.
I Will Work For:
- Incentives and partnerships to expand affordable housing
- Policies that reduce displacement
- Family-supporting community services
- Expanded access to healthcare, education, and childcare
- Tools that help families build long-term stability
Small businesses are crucial to the character and economic strength of House District 2. From restaurants and retail shops to tech startups, our local entrepreneurs fuel job growth and build vibrant neighborhoods.
Colorado must embrace innovation – especially in fields like AI, quantum computing, biotechnology, and climate technology – by offering incentives, resources, and training for new and growing businesses.
Employees deserve wages that meet their basic needs: food, housing, healthcare, and stability. A living wage reduces poverty, lowers inequality, and strengthens our entire economy.
I Will Work For:
- Incentives for startups and mid-sized businesses
- Access to capital for small businesses
- Workforce development in high-growth industries
- Living wages and worker protections
- Strengthened local business corridors
Transportation is one of Colorado’s largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions – and one of the biggest daily challenges for our district. Our systems lack resilience, often slowing down after accidents, snow events, or infrastructure issues.
Transportation must be planned alongside housing, land use, and employment opportunities.
I Will Work For:
- Repairing and upgrading roads, bridges, and tunnels
- Supporting the Colfax BRT process
- Improving regional and local bus and transit reliability
- Increasing pedestrian and cyclist safety
- Reducing emissions by modernizing transportation networks
